Is Shaq Fu: A Legend Reborn going to be the best game of 2018?

Back in 1994, Shaq Fu came out on the SNES and the Genesis. It was not received with great reception. The average user rating on Gamespot is 4.5 out of 10. Big Deez Productions decided to make a sequel to fix the mistakes of the past game. It is called Shaq Fu: A Legend Reborn. They started an indiegogo campaign, and have raised over 450,000 dollars. The gameplay actually looks pretty fun. I don’t think it will be the best game of 2018, but I think it will be better than the original Shaq Fu game. Will you pick up this humorous game when it comes out on June 5th, 2018?

Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 Teaser

Activision revealed Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 on March 8th. The game will come out on October 12, 2018. I have never been a big fan of the Call of Duty games. That doesn’t mean that the games haven’t been solid. It will be interesting to see how this one pans out. More details about this game will come out on May 17th. I hope this game comes out on the Nintendo Switch. Are you excited for Black Ops 4?

Nintendo Switch Review

I have been using the Nintendo Switch for a couple of months now. It is a great hybrid system and it may prove to be my favorite video game system yet. It is hard to tell at the early stage of its life though. I like how easy it is to switch between the TV and handheld mode. I do wish you could connect directly to the TV without a dock. It would make it more convenient when traveling.

The launch lineup was a bit slim, but the library is quickly growing. My favorite game so far on the Nintendo Switch is a fighting game called arms. Arms pits ten unique characters against each other. Each character fights with extremely long expandable arms. The main reason to own the Nintendo Switch is to play The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild on the go. This game alone offers hours of gameplay. I purchased The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild for the Wii U, but I feel like that was a mistake. I should have waited to get it for the Switch. I am still considering trading it in for the switch version. Another triple A first party game for the Nintendo Switch is Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. It is basically an enhanced version of Mario Kart 8. This is the definitive Mario Kart.

The system is comfortable to hold and the buttons on the Joy-con work well. The left and right joy-cons have a lot of tech built into them. They have a built in gyro-sensor, accelerometer and a motion tracking camera. They also have HD Rumble, which provides more realistic feedback. Nintendo also has a pro controller, however the asking price is a bit steep at the moment. It is currently listed as 64 dollars on Amazon. The pro controller is one of the best controllers that I have held to date.

Overall, the Nintendo Switch delivers on being the first true hybrid system. It is a joy to use and I am sure there will be improvements over time (battery life). I am looking forward to the future of the Nintendo Switch. They have some awesome titles coming to the system. This includes Splatoon 2, Mario Odyssey, Skyrim, NBA 2K18 and Rocket League. As long as Nintendo doesn’t remake too many titles the system will be a success. What do you think about the Nintendo Switch and the upcoming lineup?

Nintendo at E3 2016

Nintendo focused heavily on their new Legend of Zelda game at E3. The new game is called The Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild. It is an open world Zelda game that is coming out in 2017. It looks like it is shaping up to be one of the most expansive Zelda games yet. The trailer shows Link climbing up walls, hunting animals, fighting goblins and cooking. It also shows off a new kind of rock monster enemy. I watched some of the game play as well. Link has a stamina bar for running and climbing up walls. Link can also use a cool new item that can magnetically pick up and move things in the environment.

They also revealed more details for the upcoming Pokemon Sun and Moon game. The new game will have a new battle mode called Battle Royal. Battle Royal is a free for all four player battle mode. It looks like it will add a new element to the game. Nintendo also announced three new Pokemon. They showed us Pikipek, Yungoos and Grubbin

Nintendo revealed the release date for Pokemon Go Plus. It will be coming out in July 2016 and it will cost $35. The mobile app is shaping up to be pretty cool. The game will allow you to catch certain Pokemon based on your location. When it first comes out it will focus on the original 150 Pokemon. The game will allow players to level up their Pokemon with candy.

Nintendo showed off a variety of other games, but their big focus this E3 was Zelda and Pokemon. Some of the other games they showed off include Paper Mario Color Splash, Box Box Boy, Mario Party Star Rush, Dragon Quest 7 Fragments of the Forgotten, Ever Oasis, Yo-Kai Watch 2, Monster Hunter Generations and Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE. I was disappointed that they didn’t say anything about the Nintendo NX. I don’t think Nintendo had a bad showing, it just wasn’t anything spectacular. I am excited for the new Zelda game and I can’t wait to see more of it. What do you think about the new Zelda and Pokemon games?

Starwars Battlefront Dog Fights

During Gamescom 2015, EA revealed that Starwars Battlefront would have epic sky battles. It is not the same as space battles but I do think it is very similar. I think that this was the biggest announcement during Gamescom this year. Some of the ships that were shown off in the trailer include the X-Wing, Tie Fighter, Tie Interceptors, and the A-Wing. They also revealed two special ships, the Millennium Falcon and the Slave 1. I really like how EA is slowly rolling out new details about this game. They aren’t forcing everything at once.

I can’t wait to try out the new sky battles in Battlefront. The sky battle in the trailer is taking place over Sullust. Sullust has never been seen before this game; it was briefly mentioned in Starwars Episode 6. My favorite scene in the trailer is when the Millennium Falcon destroys the Imperial transport. What do you think about sky battles in the new Starwars Battlefront?

Super Smash for Wii U Review

Nintendo is well known for two multiplayer games that come out every generation. These two games are Super Smash and Mario Kart. What makes these games special? Is it the characters, the customization, the courses, or is it the joy that comes from defeating your friends? I would argue that it is a combination of these things.

Super Smash is Nintendo’s staple fighting game and the hype behind it is real. I first played Super Smash on the N64, and it was truly the first game I fell in love with. Super Smash for Wii U builds upon the previous Smash games. It takes the best characters and stages from Smash 64, Melee and Brawl.

The game also brings in some new characters and stages. Super Smash Bros for Wii U is the first game to include Pac-man, Mega Man, Bowser Jr., Rosalina, and Villager from Animal Crossing. The game also introduces several other new characters from Nintendo’s archives. Some of the new stages include Mario Galaxy, Coliseum and Skyloft. These new characters and stages really add a lot of variety to the game.

My favorite character is Roy; he returns from Super Smash Bros Melee. I really like his speed and his fiery attacks. The cool thing about Roy is that he was released as DLC. This opens the possibility for future DLC characters and stages. So far, Nintendo has released four DLC characters and three DLC stages. The characters that they have released include Roy, Lucas, Mewtwo and Ryu from Capcom. I want King Boo from Super Mario to be in the game!

The latest Smash Bros is the first game in the series to be released in High Definition. It looks amazing, and it really brings Nintendo’s history into focus. The game has great characters, a lot of customization and incredible stages. Every time I defeat one of my friends in Super Smash it brings me back to my childhood. This game makes owning a Wii U totally worth it. I strongly recommend Super Smash for Wii U.

9.5/10

What I liked at E3 2015

Nintendo, Microsoft and Sony showed off a variety of games at this years E3 Conference. There were several games that stood out to me and I can’t wait to play them.

Microsoft showed off Halo 5: Guardians, and the gameplay looks great. The trailer makes it seem like the player will be hunting Master Chief. It definitely seems like a different take on Halo and I can’t wait to jump into the action. There is also a new multiplayer mode called Warzone. This new mode allows ups to 24 players; in the past Halo games have only supported 16 players.

I also liked what I saw from Starwars Battlefront. The visuals and sound effects are superior to the original Battlefront games. One of the trailers showed multiplayer battles on Hoth and they include AT-AT’s and AT-ST’s. They also include X-Wings, Tie Fighters and Snowspeeders. It is great that vehicles are returning and I can’t wait to get into the action. The game play footage also showed that players can play as Jedi and Sith when they activate a power up. Everything looks really polished and this is my most anticipated game of 2015. However, I am disappointed that there is no campaign mode.

Many Nintendo fans were not impressed by Nintendo’s E3 Direct. However, I liked several of the games that they showed off during their direct. I liked what I saw from Star Fox Zero. It looks like the player can transform their ship into several different vehicles. This new mechanic looks really cool and I think that it will add a lot to the gameplay. It has been a while since Nintendo has released a main series Star Fox game. I also thought Mario Maker looked like a lot of fun. Nintendo is giving the user a ton of different assets and tools to use. It looks like the player can randomly drop Bowser in the middle of any level. This game looks crazy and I can’t wait to see what other people create. I am also pretty excited for the new Mario Tennis game. The player can get a power up that makes them grow huge. I have always enjoyed the Mario Tennis games and hopefully this one delivers.

What was your favorite game at E3 this year and what games are you excited for this year?
